Mission of the Mitchell County Senior Center

To improve the lives of older adults in Mitchell County

Department Overview

The Mitchell Senior Center is dedicated to assisting the older adults in Mitchell County to maintain their own home as long as possible. We offer a variety of programs and services designed especially for the older adult.

The Mitchell Senior Center is a spacious 12,500 square foot building that offers something for everyone. Whether you come out for socialization, entertainment, education, exercise or just the delicious nutritionally balanced lunch you will find a warm welcome among family and friends.

Congregate Meals: Nutritious meals are provided five days a week. Meals are prepared at the Senior Center daily by our trained Kitchen Staff. Educational programs are provided weekly as part of our “Lunch and Learn” series. Topics can vary from health, scam alerts, nutrition, safety, financial and many more. Please call before 10:00 a.m. if you wish to have your name placed on the lunch roll.

Home Delivered Meals: Homebound older adults receive nutritious meals five days a week. Meals are prepared daily in the Senior Center kitchen and delivered by dedicated volunteers.

Transportation: In coordination with the Mitchell County Transportation Authority the Senior Center provides funding for older adults to access transportation to and from the Senior Center daily.
